23 Years of Frequency Converter Profession

Powtran Taiwan Inc, established by Mr. David Tai, who originally created the Powtran brand in 1983, located in Taoyuan City, Taiwan Province, is specialized in frequency converters manufacturing and trading. The production of frequency converter has seen the 20 years of development with the progress of products from PI89 Family of GTR power devices to PI-97, PI-168, PI-2000…, the evolution of technique from traditional sine wave control mode to space vector control mode and the significant increase of production up to over two hundred thousand. The products have been exported far to the areas as Europe, North America, South East Asia and countries as Russia, Czechoslovakia, Korea, India and the Mainland China.

Powtran Taiwan Inc just moved the head office to Shenzhen city China.Powtran Taiwan Inc established ESTAR Company in Shenzhen as the production base for PI-3000 and PI-268 familys of  two products. POWTRAN is a famous brand in China market, you will find a lot of similar brand here in China and acturally Estar company is the only one ac drives factory of POWTRAN brand.

Besides establishing the Shenzhen ESTAR Company in Mainland China, Powtran Taiwan Inc invested in Xi’an Westpow Electrical & Electronic Co. Ltd., in 1990. specializing in the production of motor soft starter and medium-frequency induction heaters, etc.

Novel PI-3000/PI-268 Family frequency Converters
In 2004 Powtran Taiwan Inc, after longtime backbreaking effort, introduced the expectant new generation of products——Sensorless Vector Control PWM, with its formal name as PI-3000 and PI-268 family. Customers therefore can purchase products with similar performance to foreign counterparts with merely paying the price of China Brand. Comparing to former products, this family of frequency converters increase about twice in the performance of starting torque and low-speed torque, increase about 33% in the precision of rotate speed, increase about twice in the response time, and make some breakthroughs in the reliability and the quality assurance.

Sensorless Vector Control Technique
PI-3000 and PI-268 family sensorless vector control frequency converters apply the plastic hull for small power (under 37kw), and the low induction and the third IGBT power devices for medium and large power. The design of the entire series includes modern communicational functions as RS-485, MODOBUS, etc. Modern techniques are adopted to determine the terminals, double-range carrier frequency, PID, etc. Because of the outstandingly better performance than the traditional sine wave controlled frequency converters, the PI-3000 family has caused much attention in the market.
